Method

You are investigating how the current through a component depends on the potential difference across it.
  1. Choose a component (fixed resistor, filament lamp, or diode).
  2. Turn the dial on the power pack (or use the slider) to set a voltage.
  3. Read the voltmeter (V) and ammeter (A).
  4. Click Record reading or type your values into the table.
  5. Repeat for several voltages from -6 V to +6 V.
  6. Plot a graph of current (y-axis) against voltage (x-axis).
