Instructions:

You are investigating the density of different materials by direct measurement of mass and volume
  1. Select a material from the dropdown
  2. Use the Balance tab — read the mass display and note the value in grams
  3. Use Ruler to read L — the block is a cube, so all sides are equal and Volume = L × L × L = L³
  4. Or use Measuring Cylinder — drop the block in. If it floats, click Push under to fully submerge it, then read the water rise for volume
  5. Enter your mass, volume, and calculated density, then click Check
  6. Repeat for each material and plot a bar chart of the different materials and their densities
  7. Think: Which materials have a density less than water (1 g/cm³)?
