Experiment Instructions

Aim: To investigate refraction, dispersion and total internal reflection using a ray model.

  1. Pick materials for the top and bottom media.
  2. Change θᵢ to see refraction, then try a high angle for TIR when n₁ > n₂.
  3. Move λ to see how dispersion changes n(λ) and therefore θt.
